The Space Between Us by Steph Patterson

Everything we see is dead
stars
       skin
	     hair,
A smile takes light years to
reach the retina,
From You to Me
is a galaxy,
An undulating aquarium
of inhabited planets
and milky ways,
Black holes loom in corners
of folded space,
We unfold that space
like a picnic blanket,
Smooth it cleanly over
the embankment of the moon
and dine on the delicacies of
what we deem to be alive.
