Submission Guidelines

Gnashing Teeth Publishing accepts submissions of full-length and chapbook manuscripts. We are looking for poetry, flash fiction, short story collections, or hybrids. Please read the guidelines before submitting.

Poetry: we accept poetry of all varieties. There are no page constraints for manuscripts of full-length books. Chapbooks should be between 30-80 pages.

Use 12-point font in Times New Roman or Arial. Do not include any identifying information on the manuscript and please send them in a .doc or .docx format.

Flash Fiction/Hybrid: Individual flash fiction pieces should be no longer than 1,500 words. There are no page constraints for manuscripts of full-length books. Chapbooks should be between 30-80 pages.

Use 12-point font in Times New Roman or Arial. Do not include any identifying information on the manuscript and please send them in a .doc or .docx format.

Cover Letter: Please include your name, mailing address, email address, submission genre, and the title of your submission. Include a short bio of up to 60 words.

The submission period is between September 1st to December 31st. Use our submission form to send us your manuscripts. Any submissions sent through our contact form or our email will be deleted without comment.

Chapbooks have a $18 reading fee. Manuscripts have a $23 reading fee. If the reading fee constitutes a significant financial burden, please reach out to us privately. 

If you choose to submit to more than one category, both reading fees apply. If your work is accepted, you will be offered a contract which will outline the specific terms of publishing.
