Spectacles hang
on a chain around her neck,
pale and partially entombed in florals.
Warmed by a navy fleece
she stoops, weighed down
by pleases and thank yous.
Delicately veined hands clasp protectively
at the leather handbag
hung on a shoulder that has held far more.
She tucks a tissue into her sleeve.
There are dragons
embroidered on her boots.
